COUNSELLOR / PSYCHOLOGIST/ SOCIAL WORKER

Job Title: Counsellor/ Psychologist/ Social Worker

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Counsellor to join our team as a team as a contractor on a flexible basis of 1-3 days per week. The Counsellor will work with individuals, couples, and families to provide emotional and mental health support, identify problems, and develop strategies to help clients manage and overcome their issues. The Counsellor should be able to offer a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, and help them develop coping mechanisms to improve their well-being.

As a part of the Foundational Care team you will have access to fortnightly case reviews where we meet as a team and engage in professional development with guest speakers attending to upskill the team in different areas of discipline. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conducting one-on-one counselling sessions with individuals, couples, and families to help them deal with emotional, psychological, and social issues. 

  • Developing personalized treatment plans for clients that include identifying their goals, assessing their needs, and designing strategies to help them achieve their desired outcomes. 

  • Providing support to clients who are experiencing difficult life events such as bereavement, divorce, or trauma. 

  • Offering practical advice and coping mechanisms to help clients manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. 

  • Monitoring client progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed. 

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of client sessions and progress. 

  • Keeping abreast of new counselling techniques and research findings to ensure that clients receive the most effective treatment possible. 

  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, doctors, support coordinators and social workers to provide holistic care to clients.

 

Requirements: 

  • Diploma or Bachelor of Counselling or related discipline as a minimum  

  • Certification from a ACA, PACFA or APRHA

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures. 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of counselling practice. 

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills. 

  • Experience in providing counselling services to individuals, couples, and families.

  • Strong computer literacy skills and able to use applications such as Zoom and booking software   

 

Locations:

  • We are recruiting for multiple locations across the Central West such as Parkes, Forbes, Orange and Dubbo
