Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in Australia. On average, one in four people – one in three women and one in five men – will experience anxiety at some stage in their life.

It is common to feel that anxiety is just a part of life and can not be escaped. However, with support it is possible to break free from the hold that anxiety suppresses people with.

Low Self-Esteem

Self-esteem is the way you feel about yourself. People with low self-esteem feel unhappy or unsatisfied with themselves most of the time and find it difficult to see any good qualities about themselves.

People with low self-esteem often feel like they are not good enough and can be overly critical of everything that they do. This can become a constant negative narrative that affects their ability to enjoy life.

Stress is the adaptation of the body when we feel as though we are not equipped or have the resources available to effectively deal with a situation.

Stress can occur in many situations such as work, family life and relationships with others. Often when a space is provided to unravel their thoughts, people find that they do in fact have what is needed already inside of them.

The World Health Organisation states that there are more than 350 million people globally suffering from depression.

Depression is more than just feeling the occasional low mood or bout of sadness. It is very serious condition that affects not only a persons mental but physical health as well.

Depression is a symptom of the situation that people find themselves in - it is not who they are. Accepting support is essential to re-connecting to the body and themselves so that they are able to move towards greater awareness of who they are and the situation they are in.

Grief & Loss

Grief is someone's response to loss that occurs when something departs a persons life that held a strong attachment. When the attachment is cut, it can feel like a gaping loose end. Grief is a very personal experience and can occur in a variety of situations such as death of a loved one or pet, an end of a relationship or loss of a job.

There is no one correct way to process grief, however, people often find having a support network in place, including counseling, beneficial.

Burnout is caused from being exposed to prolonged stress either from the workplace, caring for others, or many other situations in life.

The effects of burnout extend over every aspect of peoples lives and affect not only your mind but your body as well. Burnout can have serious consequences if not addressed such as reduced work performance and life satisfaction. It can also lead to serious health consequences such depression and chronic fatigue.

'Kellie is kind, intelligent, warm and reassuring and has a natural ability to create a safe and comfortable space. After my very first session with Kellie I felt a sense of stability. She offered me a new perspective and way of thinking, but also gave me permission to be vulnerable. This has gone on to better my mental health and I am incredibly grateful to call on her as a source of support and strength.'
