Hello and a huge welcome to A Toolbox For Life! If you are participating in this course I am fairly certain that you have faced a few challenges in your time here on earth with some of them being more difficult than others. Although sometimes we have no control over the situation around us–but we do have a say about what goes on within us.

 

Over the next coming weeks with the support of this course you will develop a toolbox which you can then pull out at anytime of your life to support you through life storms. In my practice I use a lot of analogies and practical examples so stay with me and use your imagination as we go through them. There will be 9 modules of this course and don’t worry, there won’t be an exam at the end of it. Some of the topics we are going to cover are:

  • The importance of setting foundations

  • The impact of alcohol and caffeine on your brain

  • Depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts

  • Sleep!

  • Diet and exercise

  • Chronic pain management

  • Creating new habits

  • Self-confidence

  • Self-love

You can also download an app called Beyond Now from Beyond Blue that will walk you through how to create a safety plan for yourself. If you are concerned about a loved one who may be struggling with mental health issues, you can do one with them as well.
